Classroom Booking Information
A visit to the BIG little Science Centre has most value when...
Teachers prepare their classes to look for something
specific, or give them a definite task to complete while
they visit. Unprepared students tend to 'flit about' the
displays, learning very little about any of them. It is more
valuable to visitors if they take their time and examine a
few displays closely, with some sort of goal in mind.
Teachers assume responsibility for class management:
Teachers know students by name, and can immediately get the
attention of the odd individual who is treating equipment
too roughly, or disturbing other students.
Please remind students that they must not run around the science centre. Some of the displays are easily damaged by rough handling, and that means the next visiting group may not be able to enjoy them.
Times available for Class visits:
Weekdays 9AM-5PM
Other days and times by request.
Note: Two classes from one school can visit at the same time, if prior arrangements are made with staff at the BLSC. This option is dependent on the topic and lab/demo chosen.
Class Booking Charges:
Teachers and supervisors required to accompany children are not charged
admission. Adults beyond the required number of supervisors naessaryfor the visit charged $10.00 per person.
Standard Visit (one lab or demo and hands-on room): $10.00 per student with a minimum booking charge of $80. Special permission is required for class groups of more than 30 students. (an additional charge may apply for some hands-on labs).
Multi lab/demo Visit (two labs/demos and hands-on room): $10:00 per student plus $5.00 per student for the second lab/demo with a minimum booking charge of $125. Special permission is required for class groups of more than 30 students. (an additional charge may apply for some hands-on labs).
Off Site Booking (outside or inside your school, or at another location within Kamloops):Pricing is variable dependent on options and programing agreed to.
Specialized booking (must be prearranged with the BLSC, can included multiple labs/demos or specialized programing): Pricing is variable dependent on options and programing agreed to.
Payment Options: Cash, credit, debit, or cheque. Electronic payment is available on request for School Districts.

- your name
- your school
- grade level(s)
- number of visitors
- tentative dates and times you wish to visit
- the show or lab you are interested in
- a phone number or E-Mail where you can be reached, as well as a 'best time' to contact you.
NOTE: Not all demos or labs will be available at all times.
